Biography

Daniel was born about 1805. He was the son of Daniel Pickett and Hannah Taylor.

Daniel married Harriet E. Wilson on 15 May 1838 in Washington, Alabama.[1]

In the 1840 census Daniel was in Washington, Alabama.[2]

He passed away in 1851

Research Notes

In the 1840 Census, there are listed 2 males <5, 2 males 20-30, 1 female 5-9, 1 female 20-29, 1 female slave <10, 1 female slave 10-23. One of the males under 5 would have been Harriet and Daniel's son, Lewis Berry (aka Littleberry) Pickett. The other son would probably have been Robert Pickett, b. 1836, son of Amelia & Daniel. The female 5-9 would probably have been Amelia & Daniel's daughter, Hannah Ann, born 1831. There is no documentation of a divorce between Daniel & Amelia. Guardianship records for Robert from Clark County, MS exist. They are from 1851. I have to find the paper copies.

Ulmer-538 Fran (Ulmer) Pickett
Pickett-1975 and Pickett-2669 appear to represent the same person because: They are both the Daniel Pickett who was with father Daniel in Chautauqua County NY in 1810 and then moved to Mississippi. Married 1st Amelia Ferrill, 2nd Harriet Wilson. This is my late husbands direct line.
