William was born in 1866. He is the son of Samuel Pickett and Anne Drake.

Mudgee District Personalities. One of the oldest identities of the district, in the person of Mr. William Joseph Pickett, of Turill, died in the Mudgee hospital on Friday last at the great age of 94 years. Deceased, who followed farming and grazing pursuits, was a member of a pioneer Rylstone family, and spent practically the whole of his long and useful life in this area. He is survived by a son, Alan William, to whom deep sympathy is extended. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the Cassilis cemetery today, the arrangements being in the hands of Messrs. Eastaugh and Carroll.
