A record of the birth of this Lula Angie Pierce who was born in Warren, Worcester, Massachusetts, March 13, 1868 to parents Stephen D. & Adelia (Fifield) Pierce.^[1]

CENSUS':

The 1870 US Census of Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this person given as Lulu A., a 2yr old born in Massachusetts, living there in Worcester with her parents, Stephen D. Pierce and Adelia and three older siblings; 18yr old Edward, 15yr old Julia F. and 4yr old Mary.^[2]

The 1880 US Census of Warren, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this person given as "Lulia" (sic) A., a 12yr old born in Massachusetts, living there in Warren with her mother, Adelia and three sisters; Julia F., Mary and "Maud" (sic).^[3]

The 1900 US Census of the Cliftondale neighborhood of Saugus, Essex, Massachusetts. finds this Lulu A. at the age of 27yrs old and given as a "bookkeeper" born in Massachusetts. She is living there in Saugus with her sister, Julia and Julia's husband, Frank L. Barnard. Also living in the household is the mother of Julia and Lulu; Adelia age 70.^[4]

The 1910 US Census of Chicago, Cook, Illinois, finds this Louise A. at the age of 37yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts and in her 1st marriage for 1yr, living there in Chicago with her husband Henry W. Cavell and five of Henry's children from his 1st marriage; 16yr old Arthur L; 15yr old Stuart G., 14yr old Patricia A., 11yr old Lawrence and 3yr old Charlotte J.^[5]

The 1920 US Census of Glendale, Los Angeles, California finds this Louise A. Cavell at the age of 47yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts, (we know from her birth record, her actual age at this time is 52),living there in Glendale with her husband, Henry W. Cavell and Henry's daughter, 13yr old, Charlotte A.^[6]

The 1930 US Census of Glendale, Los Angeles, California finds this person given as "Louise A. Carvell or Covell" given as 62yrs old and born in Massachusetts, living there in Glendale in a household headed by her sister, Julia F. Barnard. Also in the household is a person identified as a step-niece of Julia's (perhaps step-daughter of Louise's), Charlotte A. (Covell or Carvell?)^[7]

DEATH:

A California death certificate for the passing of this Louise A. Cavell who died March 9, 1937 in LOs Angeles, California. Of this Louise, this record also says she was born in Massachusetts, March 13, 1868 and that her parents were Stephen Decatur Pierce and Adelia Fifield. It also says when she died she was the widow of Henry Cavell, and that she was buried in Malhalla Cemetery.^[8]
