MARRIAGE:

A record of the marriage of this William H. Pierce to Ruby L. Holden in New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts November 27, 1867. For this William the record says his parents were Frederick & Ermina Pierce.[1]

A record of the marriage of this William H. Pierce to Lizzie Jane Cox (possibly born as Lizzie Jane Stowell) in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts, October 1, 1874. Of this William this record tells us he was 34yrs old at the time of this 1874 marriage and that his parents were Frederick & Ermina Pierce.[2]A record of another marriage of this William H. Pierce to Joanna H. Eaton (possibly born Joanna H. Wilkinson). This marriage took place in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts, December 2, 1890. Of this William, this record says he was 50yrs old at this time, and that his parents were Frederick & Ermina Pierce.[3]

The 1850 US Census of New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts finds this William Henry Pierce as a 10yr old, living there with his parents, Frederick and Ermina and fout=r siblings. His birthplace is given as Massachusetts.[4]

The 1860 US Census of Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this William H. Pierce as a 20yr old farmer, living there with his parents, Frederick and Ermina and three siblings. His birthplace is given as Massachusetts.[5]

The 1870 US Census of New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts finds this William H. Pierce as a 30yr old, with an occupation, "battering boots" (?); and living there with his parents, Frederick and Ermina and his wife, given as Ruby L. (27) and son, Alton W. (1).[6]

The 1880 US Census of New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts finds this William H. Pierce at the age of 40yrs old and given as a "boot bottomer" born in Massachusetts living there with his 51yr old wife, Elizabeth J. and 11yr old son, Alton W.[7]

The 1900 US Census of Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this William H. Pierce at the age of 60yrs old and given as a farmer, born in Massachusetts in May, 1840, living there with his wife, Joanna H. and Joanna's 28yr old single daughter, Nellie A. Eaton.[8]

The 1910 US Census of Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this William H. Pierce at the age of 69yrs old, and given working of his "own income" and born in Massachusetts, living there with his 3rd wife, 65yr old Joanna H. This record says he and Joanna had been married for 19yrs at the time of this 1910 census.[9]

DEATH:

Massachusetts state death certificate for this William Henry "Peirce" (sic last name spelled wrong), who died May 6, 1916 in Petersham, Worcester, Massachusetts of myocarditis. This record also says he was born May 29, 1840 in New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts and that his parents were Frederick Pierce and "Mina" Merriam. The informant was his 3rd wife, Joanna Pierce.[10]
