A record of the marriage of this George H. Peirce to Eva G. McCurdy, April 10, 1873 in Wakefield, Middlesex, Massachusetts, (registered in Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts.) Of this George, this record says he was a 24yr old "clerk" entering into his 1st marriage at this time. IT also says he was born in New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts and that his parents were Frederick and Ermina Pierce.[2]

The 1860 US Census of New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts finds this George H. Pierce at the age of 11, living there with his parents, Frederick and Ermina and three siblings. His birthplace is given as Massachusetts.[5]

The 1865 Massachusetts state census of New Salem, Franklin, Massachusetts finds this George H. at the age of 16 and working as a farmer, living there with his parents, Frederick and Ermina and two of his brothers. His birthplace is given as New Salem, (Massachusetts).[6]

The 1870 US Census of Athol, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this George H. at the age of 21 yrs of age, living there on his own, and working in a "jeweler's store."[7]

The 1880 US Census of Wakefield, Middlesex, Massachusetts finds this George H. Pierce at the age of 31yrs old, and given as a "dentist" born in Massachusetts, living there with his 28yr old wife Evaline G. and 9-month old son, Bradford H.[8]

The 1900 US Census of Somerville, Middlesex, Massachusetts finds this George H. Peirce at the age of 51yrs old and given as a dentist, born in Massachusetts, living there in Somerville, on Laurel St. with his 48yr old wife, Eveline G. and three sons; 20yr old Bradford H., 19yr old G. Leon and 12yr old Carroll F.[9]

The 1920 US Census of Brighton section of Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts finds this George H. Peirce at the age of 74yrs old and given as a widowed dentist born in Massachusetts, living there in Brighton at 23 Sutherland St. with his 38yr old son, George L, George L's 36yr old wife, Ri=uth, George L. and Ruth's son, 15yr old George L. and Ruth's mother given as Mrs. Mary D. Leighton.[10]

OBITUARY:

Dr. George H. Peirce (sic)

Funeral services of Dr. George H. Peirce (sic), will be held at the home of his son, George L. Peirce (sic) of Sunderland road, Brookline, at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be at Forest Hills cemetery.

Dr. Peirce (sic) was born in New Salem, Dec. 20, 1848, a son of Frederick & Ermina (Merriam) Peirce (sic), and attended New Salem Academy. He graduated from the Boston Dental College and practiced his profession in Boston for nearly 50 years.

As a young man, he resided in Athol and married there in 1873 Eveline G. McCurdy who died in August 186?. He married Mary D. Leighton of Boston in May, 1925 and she died in August of that year. He was a member of the Masonic Order and was a Knight Templar. For nearly 25yrs he sang with the A------? Club of Melrose.

Dr. Peirce (sic) was a resident of Wakefield, later living in Somerville and this city, and resided at his late residence for 15 years. Dr. Peirce (sic) is survived by two other sons, Dr. Bradford H. Pierce of South Hanson, and Carroll P. Pierce of New York City and also by four grandchildren and two brothers, Prentice M. Pierce of New Salem and Cyrus M. Peirce (sic) of Athol.[11]
