Biography

The son of Arthur Pierce and Thelma Blanche Cosner, William Franklin "Bill" Pierce was born in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio on 8 Jun 1931. ^{[1] [2]}

He married was married twice.

(1) Madge Ivalene Adkins (1933-1995), married about 1949. She was 16, he was 18. Madge was the daughter of Henry Oscar Adkins and Minerva E Mullins. At the time of the 1950 census, Madge and Bill had been married for less than a year and did not yet have any children. ^[3] They divorced in 1955. ^[4] Children of Madge and William:

2. John Wayne [Pierce] "Johnny" Brobst Sr (1954-1994)

The U.S., Department of Veterans Affairs Beneficiary Identification Records Locator Subsystem (BIRLS) Death File records Bill's middle name as "Franklin"; however, all other historical documents record his middle name with the initial "F" or as "Frank", including the U.S. Social Security Applications and Claims Index as well as the U.S. Social Security Death Index.

• NOTE: Research finds that there is a William Franklin Pierce, the son of Hubert D. Pierce and Helene E. Rodocker, who was born in Marysville, Kansas on 8 Jul 1931, one month after our subject ancestor. He married Patricia Rose (Smith) Bale. William passed away in 2002 and is interred in CedarVale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village, Saline County, Arkansas. This person is a different individual from our subject ancestor, which is confirmed by comparing theirsocial security numbers. ^{[6] [7]}
