Mary was born in 1738, about 8 months after her parents were married. She is the daughter of Francis Pierpoint and Sarah Richardson.

She was married 13 September 1762, to Richard Richardson Jr., and they had 8 children. Richard Jr. was son of Richard Richardson Sr. and Margaret Cole.
