Woah, woah, woah, Esmé. You are rejecting all of my unmerged matches, all on profiles managed by me. These are likely matches, still being researched, as clearly explained in the research notes sections. If you have some evidence why they are not matches then please enter that in a comment, otherwise it is incorrect of you to mark any Unknown profile as rejected because you do not know the identity of one of the people so cannot say that they are not the same person.
It seems you are going through Unknown last names. I just want to make this really clear to you, you cannot set an Unknown match as rejected unless you supply evidence. If you have Mr Smith born 1900 and Mr Unknown born unknown year, there is no conflict there, they could be the same person. If you set them as rejected it means that you have some evidence of a conflicting name/date/location/spouse/etc that indicates they are two separate people.

Please give me the opportunity to reply to your message and state the reasons why I rejected the merges. I am in the process of drafting an e-mail to you.

Apparently you haven't learned from your previous mistakes since you've just incorrectly rejected another unmerged match with no justification. You are erasing probable connections, making factually incorrect claims that they are separate people (in violation of the honour code), and making WikiTree worse. I've tried reasoning with you. I've tried compromising with you, asking you to at least not set them as rejected, you didn't even bother answering me.

I have rejected the unmerged matches of Mills-15012 (L) and Mills-8033 (R) as you can clearly see that they do not have the same parents and have nothing in common except the year of birth and the fact that they are both reverends.

See this is my point Esmé. You are stating as a fact that they are two different people because they have different parents, but this is not true, you are not reading the profiles. The parents of Mills-15012 are set as uncertain, and in the research notes it states that the reason he has been assigned these speculative parents is because one of their other sons owned land in the same area. So there is no contradictory evidence that these two profiles, both Reverend Mills born Kildare 1800, are separate people. They may be, they may not be. It requires further information, but there is no time limit upon which this information has to be found (last time you said you were rejecting anything that hadn't been resolved within a year). Setting them as rejected matches is incorrect, not ethically, but factually. So the current situation is that WikiTree would be more accurate if you did nothing. So again, I am explaining how your good intentions are having negative consequences, you cannot claim ignorance, if you don't stop, it will be deliberate vandalism.

I see that you have set the Current last name for Elisabeth Miller (1803-) to Miller. I had left is Unknown as there is no record of her marriage, or not. Do you know that she did marry?

Hi Nick

Unless there is a source that indicates that a woman married and she took on the Surname of her spouse, her Current Last Name will always remain the same as her Last Name at Birth.

OK, no worries.

Pluss eighteen more characters to satisfy the weird programming ???

Good morning Esmé. I see you are busy completing merges this morning. Thank you.

Morning Anne, always chipping away at the duplicates, especially with LNAB Unknown.
Hi, I noticed a recent name change you did for "Jarring_f.Jönsson-3", a Swedish profile made by importing a gedcom. You changed first name *and* preferred name "Gunnar* Valfrid" into "Gunnar Valfrid". If you do similar edits for other Swedish profiles it is good if you learn what that means! The asterisk is used to indicate which name is the preferred name. So the correct edit would have been to remove the asterisk from the first name field, but to use that information to fill in the correct preferred name field. I have done that already, but I want you to know this if you do similar edits.

The change was made due to it being on the Suggestion List in 2018 - 788 Period in Current Last Name DatabDoctor
Sure, it was wrongly entered, which is why it came up in the suggestion list. But then you need to know about what the problem actually was to correct it. If it was possible to fix all such problems by just removing a certain set of characters then those changes would have been made automatically instead, but since some thought needs to go into it instead there is just a suggestion.

Thanks Esmé for finding Unknown-472384 and Unknown-472385, I must have accidentally created them as the correct profile was Unknown-472386. All 3 have been merged to create a new Unknown-472384. I don't have any documentation for Philip as he is Polish and would have been born around 1900, but I will see if I can find the death record for his daughter as that is where I found Philip's name.
