Hello Esmé,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Unknowns Team, working on "No Dates - Dates on relatives - Open - Status Died." Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Hi,

Simbine-1 seam to be the profile of the famous Mozambique politician Graça Machel. If it is the case can you ask the profile to be open for view?

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Simbine-1

She is a living notable with wikipedia pages in 38 languages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gra%C3%A7a_Machel

Can you guide me on how to get this profile to be opened?

Thanks

In order to change the privacy to Yellow (Private with a Public Family Tree and Biography) you have to:

. Add the Notables project [email address removed] and/or Scott Fulkerson (Fulkerson-232) to the trusted list;

. Make a post to the G2G "Notables Jan 2024" (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1682231/notables-jan-2024) to ask the change of the privacy level.

Note that the living notable Graça Machel (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Simbine-1) comply with the criteria:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Living_Notables_Project

"Criteria for Yellow Privacy:

. The notable person must be at least 18-years-old. . The notable should have Wikipedia pages in at least three languages. . Their Wikipedia entry should include information about at least one nuclear family member (i.e. parent, sibling, spouse, or child). . Exceptions to these rules may be made at the discretion of the project leaders."

Dear Esmé,

Thank you very much for the information you shared on the Family Tree of Lodewyk Christoffel Retief. I do have the information that was excluded in your assistance, but unfortunately I do not know how to share this. It is also impossible for me to change critical details that I posted such as the fact that I am the grandson of Lodewyk Christoffel Retief. Thanks again for your help. (PS: I am not able to recommend you for a Special Star as the website do not allow me this feature such as your ID as required)

On 11 July 2018, you added the marriage date of my 2nd great grandparents J.H.F. Schwarz and A.M.C. Timme as 26 October 1873. It was only yesterday that I found their wedding entry in a microfiche archive in Lüneburg, Germany, confirming that they were married on that day. How did you know 4.5 years ago? I'm really curious now ... !?!

Good morning Esmé. I see you are busy completing merges this morning. Thank you.

Morning Anne, always chipping away at the duplicates, especially with LNAB Unknown.
Hi, I noticed a recent name change you did for "Jarring_f.Jönsson-3", a Swedish profile made by importing a gedcom. You changed first name *and* preferred name "Gunnar* Valfrid" into "Gunnar Valfrid". If you do similar edits for other Swedish profiles it is good if you learn what that means! The asterisk is used to indicate which name is the preferred name. So the correct edit would have been to remove the asterisk from the first name field, but to use that information to fill in the correct preferred name field. I have done that already, but I want you to know this if you do similar edits.

The change was made due to it being on the Suggestion List in 2018 - 788 Period in Current Last Name DatabDoctor
Sure, it was wrongly entered, which is why it came up in the suggestion list. But then you need to know about what the problem actually was to correct it. If it was possible to fix all such problems by just removing a certain set of characters then those changes would have been made automatically instead, but since some thought needs to go into it instead there is just a suggestion.

Thanks Esmé for finding Unknown-472384 and Unknown-472385, I must have accidentally created them as the correct profile was Unknown-472386. All 3 have been merged to create a new Unknown-472384. I don't have any documentation for Philip as he is Polish and would have been born around 1900, but I will see if I can find the death record for his daughter as that is where I found Philip's name.
