Research Notes
The Mouritz/Mauritz name comes from Gustave Anjou'sUlster County, New York Probate Records so use with caution. Frederick's will was apparently published in this work.

I think his birth place "Bruykom in Gelderland" must be the same village as "Bruchem, Gelderland, Nederland", which is still today called "Brukom" or "Brukum" by the locals.
First, although there is no baptismal record for him he was listed as one of 7 children in his father's will (see above).
Second, he and his brother and sisters removed to New Jersey in the early 1700s (the records below were published in early volumes of SCHQ (Somerset County Historical Quarterly) as reported in Kevin Riley's "The Old Man of the Mountain: the family of Mourits Mouritszen in New Jersey," priv. pub. by the author 2018:
18 Nov 1701 Mouris Mourison and wife [unnamed] bapt. son Frederick, sp. Pieter Van Neste, at First Ref. Raritan Church Somerset County.
29 Aug 1703 Oeycke Mauritste j.d. born in Marbletown m. Joris Haal (Hall).
27 Oct 1706 Joseph Stevense & Geertruy Mouritse bapt. son Jan, sponsors Jacob Pearson and Leysbet Mouritse.
26 April 1709 Isack Bodyn and wife [Mourits' sister Engeltie] bapt. son Fredrick.
7 May 1710 Pieter Mauritsze & Maria Haal/Hall bapt. daughter Engeltje, sp. Frederick Mauritsz and Engeltje Peters.
30 Apr 1712 Joris Hall and wife bapt. daughter Elisabet, sp. Isack Bodyn and wife.
Mourits is thus present in this parish along with 5 of his siblings Pieter, Engeltie, Oeyke, Geertruy and Elizabeth (Leysbet).
Third, Mourits himself and family removed again to Morris County, "Mouris Mourison" purchasing land 18 Nov 1701 "on the south by the Passaic River, east by the Pequannock, north to the hill or mountain...and to the west upon the meadows along the Passaic" (History of Morris County, New Jersey...p. 266).

Maurits-12 and Pietersen-98 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the patronymic NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
Mouritz-4 and Pietersen-98 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the patronymic NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
