The name on her handwritten Will (a copy may be viewed at her Find A Grave Memorial) and Federal Census records from 1850, 1880,1894, 1900 show the spelling of her name is "Chrischana". Despite having the Will, and referring to her as Chrischana in the Bio, the name "Christina" is at the top of the page. I only found one source recorded during her life that used "Christina" - the 1860 Federal Census.
Biography
Christina/ Chrischana was born to Jacob Pifer and Sophia Hess on 31 March 1829 in New York. She married Asa S. Knowles in about 1848, and they had six children together.
She passed away on 14 December 1903 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
