Biography
William may have been born in 1782 if he was baptised out of town or in a non-conformist congregation. Otherwise, the only in town baptism was for a William, son of Thomas & Elizabeth, born on 3 July 1785 and baptised on 24 July 1785 in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, England.[1]
William married Celey (Celia) Proud, daughter of John Proud and Elizabeth Unknown (Bates?)(Robson?)(Ellwood?) in 1805 in nearby Monks Risborough.[2]
The 1851 Census has William and Celia were living in Hadenham. William (age 69), Pauper ex ag. lab., was the married head of household in South End, Haddenham, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. They have their grand daughter there, with them from Oakley, Buckinghamshire. This was Elizabeth Piggott Ing's child.[10]
