Biography

Alexander Pigott was born about 1618. He was the son of Major John Pigott of Grangebeg and Dysart, Queen's County, Ireland and Martha Colclough.^[1][2]

He married Anne Bolton, daughter of Sir Edward Bolton, Knt, of Brazil, County Dublin and widow of Thomas Adderley, Esq.^[1]

Alexander and Anne had two children:^[1]

1. Thomas Pigott of Chetwynd m Jane Moore
2. Anne Pigott m Sir Thomas Brodrick, Esq

Alexander was of Inishonan/ Innishannon, County Cork and established the Pigott line of Knapton, including the Baronet.^[1] He made his will on 17 September 1680.^[1]
