This day's Hampden Guardian thus refers to the late Mr C. Pike :- "Residents in Camperdown, and, indeed, throughout the whole district will regret very much to learn that Mr Charles Pike died on Sunday last at Geelong, having succumbed to a severe attack under which he has suffered during the past two months. Mr Pike has been for a great number of years identified with this district, and always took a prominent part in all local matters. He was a man of considerable enterprise, doing a large amount of good, and many will have cause to feel his loss, for he was always ready to lend a helping hand, and do a neighborly turn when occasion offered."
