Born in Bracken Co., Then to Bracken/Grant Co. with his parents in the 1860's. :In 1870's in Harrison Co Ky about the time he was married.
In 1880 he was in Grant Co. Ky. Census then to Switzerland Co. Ind. around :1890.
In 1900 they had 9 children and had only 2 :living children. They had also been married 19 years. [1]
In 1900 located in Gallatin Co. Ky., 1910 back to E. Williamstown Grant Co Ky. :Then to Pendleton :Co for his remaining years where his obit was written in 1934.
He was working as a carpenter / farmer in his younger days. Then finally settled down iin Pendleton. This scattered the older children in northern ky. & :Switzerland Co. Ind.It would be interesting the Smyth Male that left the children :of Girtrud I Pike Smyth with JW their grandparents..

Barton Papers
The Barton Papers were created by a lawyer in Pendleton Co. Ky. That had a lot :of interest in the families of the Falmouth Ky. area. He sent out letters to :households with forms to fill out on their family information.
A lot of residents did fill them out including some of my cousins. He complied :families & who married who on bride & groom lists. Barton donated his :collection to the Falmouth Library upon his death.
Only a half a day since in the courthouse previously. They almost had to escort :me out of the door at closing time.
These papers helped on the next 2 generations of the cousins from Mike & :Isobelle on down. Not sure if he sent stamped returned envelopes to the :households?
J W is buried at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Pendleton County, Kentucky.

Falmouth, Pendleton Co. Ky. was under water with their worst flood from the Licking River in 1997. Cincinnati was hit bad also, but Falmouth had to practically move their town to higher ground before they were allowed to rebuild. Falmouth is the Co. Seat. Brooksville Ky. Is the County Seat of Bracken Co. Ky.
