Eileen V. (Pike) Simmons "Ginny" Age 82 of Newark, DE formerly of New Castle, DE passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at home. Mrs. Simmons had worked as a waitress for most of her career, work-ing at the M&M Diner at Hares Corner for several years. Mrs. Simmons had also worked at the Bellanca Airport in New Castle and for Asbury United Methodist Church, also in New Castle. Mrs. Simmons was an active member of the Women of The Moose Lodge #1418 New Castle Chapter where she was also employed as a barmaid. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard S. Pike and Marion V. (Clark) Pike; sisters, Myrtle Pike, Marion Moore, Phyllis Barcus; brother, Lawrence Pike; great granddaughter, Bethany L. McNally; and great grandson, Joseph Groff. Survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Albert W. Simmons; children, Phyllis V. Brainard and her husband, John, Sr. of Milton, DE, Nancy R. Polus and her husband, Tom of New Castle, Teddy R. Harrison, Jr. and his wife, Susie of Laurel, DE; stepchildren, Patricia K. Locosta of New Brunswick, NJ and Albert Terry Simmons of Felton, DE; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; 34 nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 27, 2004 at 11 am at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware St., New Castle. Friends may call Thursday evening February 26th at the funeral home from 7-9 pm where a Women of The Moose Ritual will be held at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
