Victor Joseph Pike was born on 1 July 1907. He was the son of William Pike (Clergyman) and Florence Surridge, one of 11 children. [1]
In the 1911 census Victor (age 3) was the son of William Pike in Srahavarrella (Clonoulty West, Tipperary), Ireland. [2] [3]

He played for the Ireland national rugby union team. His first international test match was against England on the 14 February 1931. His last test match was against Wales on 10 March 1934.[4]
Victor Joseph Pike (age 30, Bachelor, Clerk in Holy Order, Residence: R. M. S. Woolrich, son of William Pike, deceased, Clerk in Holy Order) married Dorothea Elizabeth Frend (age 25, Spinster, Residence: 59 Eaton Terrace, S. W. 1, daughter of William Reginald Frend, deceased, Captain in the Sherwood Foresters) on 29 Dec 1937 at St. Michaels Church, Westminster St. Margaret, London, England by R. B. Pike. Witnesses were A. H. Pike and Phyllis Frend. [5]
Victor was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He was Chaplain-General to the Forces between 1951 and 1960. He held the office of Bishop of Sherborne.
He died on 25 February 1986 at age 78. [6] [7]
