Biography

Ebenezer was born in 1769. He passed away about 1841. [1]

"Ebenezer Pinkham, b. Harpswell, Me., April 1, 1769; d. summer of 1841 (72y.). Mrs. Sallie H. Pinkham of Port- land, Me., says: "I think my grandfather, Ebenezer Pink- ham, lived a little above where the famous hotel, the Mansion House, used to stand, and on the opposite side of the road, this house afterwards being occupied by his son Micajah Pinkham. Ebenezer Pinkham moved to Harring- ton, Me., and he and his wife are buried in the cemetery of Millbridge, Me. His son, Richard Pinkham, and daugh- ter, Diana, moved with him to Harrington, and the son, Robert Pinkham, soon followed. In 1832 his brother, Na- thaniel Pinkham, also moved thither with his sons, daugh- ters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Harmon and Daniel Curtis, sons of Paul Curtis of Ash Cove, Harpswell, Me., moved thither; also Capt. Wanton Stover and David Alex- ander of Harpswell Neck, Me., and the Wilson family from Orr's Island, Me. This shows the very strong influence which Ebenezer Pinkham exerted in his native town of Harpswell, Me. Ebenezer Pinkham m., April 6, 1789, Mary Kemp, who was b. at Kittery, Me., and d. at Har- rington, Me., in the winter of 1857, aged 88y." Her broth- ers were Robert, Silas and Furbish Kemp; her sister Sallie Kemp m. Ward Haskell of Harpswell, Me., and her half-sister Huldah Randall m. Norton Stover. Mary Kemp's mother's maiden name was Milbury; these Kemps moved to Harpswell, Me., at an early date." [2]

"Ebenzr Pinkham & Mary Kemp, were married 6th Aprl 1789."[3]
