Biography

John was the youngest son of Pinkham-180 He "received the homestead garrison [on Dover Neck, NH] and all from his father."[1] and in Sinnett[2]

Parents, birth date and location,[4] spouse and approximate marriage year and location, death date and location, and “John and Phebe were members of the Friends in Dover” John inherited the Pinkham homestead. On 21 July 1792 John Pinkham of Dover, yeoman, for £40 sold to Edmund and Elijah Pinkham of Dover, yeomen, a tract of eleven and three quarters acres in Dover, that John had purchased of Ephraim Tibbetts and John Plumer, Esq. Phebe released her dower.[5] Then on 18 September 1792, John sold to Peter Hunt of Portsmouth, baker, and Henry Trefethen of Kittery, cabinetmaker, one-half of the original share of pasture land in Dover that John had purchased of Ephraim Tibbetts, deceased.[6] In 1790, his household consisted of six men over sixteen, three under sixteen and four women.[7] In his will of 20 July 1815, will [sic] John mentioned his wife Phebe and left legacies of one dollar to the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Roberts my daughter, late of Rochester now Farmington, deceased; one dollar to the lawful heirs of my oldest son Otis Pinkham late of Milton deceased. He also made bequests to second son Edmund; third son Elijah (all real estate in Dover except that which was to go to Pheby and Samuel); youngest son Samuel; two sons Joseph and Benjamin; the heirs of my sixth son Enoch, late of Dover, deceased; second daughter Sarah Miers; my seventh son Nicholas; and fourth daughter Pheby Jackson, late of Portsmouth, deceased. Elijah was appointed executor, and the will was witnessed by Thomas Roberts, Thomas Henderson, and Ephraim Roberts. It was proved on 11 September 1815.[8]” in Hollick.[9]
