Biography

Ann (Pinkney) Watson was born in Yorkshire, England.

Hannah (aka Anna, Ann, Annie) was born in 1842. Her birth was registered at Bridlington, East Yorkshire, England. Her mother's maiden name was Suggitt. ^[1]

She was born at Kilham near Driffield and was the daughter of Simon Pinkney and his wife Sarah (Suggitt). ^[2]

She lived with tailor called Joseph Watson who was about 16 years older than her. They had several children who were given the Pinkney family name (some being given the name Watson as a middle name). At this time Ann maintained her Maiden name. ^[3]

By 1891 Hannah/Ann and the children were using the Watson family name. ^[4] She appeared on the 1901 census with 2 of her sons. ^[5]

Research Notes

I did not find any marriage records for Pinkney to Joseph Watson. The 1871 census shows Joseph's status as being married and Ann's status as unknown. Was Joseph estranged from someone else? Lake-4041 11:43, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
