Biography

Edith (Gobell) Thwaites was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Edith was the daughter of unmarried parents William Hampton and Elizabeth Gobell. She was born in 1878 in Brompton, South Australia.[1]

In 1902 Edith married Patrick Soraghan in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at Hamley Bridge.[2] They had one daughter, Veronica, born in 1903 after her father died.

Edith married again in 1906 to Bertram Thwaites. The marriage took place in St Thomas Church at Hamley Bridge.[3] Their children were:

Edith died in 1958 in Hamley Bridge, South Australia.[4]
