Biography

Henriette was born about 1864. She is the daughter of Henry Piper and Emmaline Close.

Henrietta Piper was married several times according to Ella Flint. Her first husband was a thief who belonged to a gang. There were several men in the gang and they all lived together in a guarded, secluded place. Her husband would not let Etta leave so Etta wrote to her mother, Emily Piper, and Emily Piper offered to pay their way if they would come and visit her, which they did. The Pipers let the police know where the husband was and the police surrounded the house but the guy got away. Etta stayed with her parents, got a divorce, and eventually married again. She had several husbands. Witnesses to the marriage of Etta Piper and Richard Myers were Willie and Susie Ward. Ella Flin thought that she had two children by her first husband. Henrietta later married a man named Ross. Ella Flint said that she moved to Oregon and died there.
