Christina Pirie married Benjamin Cruickshank on 1 December 1883 at Slains.
By the 1891 Census she was still living and working as a House keeper on her father-in-law's farm. She was recorded as being named Christian,aged 32 and married to Benjamin. they had 3 sons, George Cruickshank, 7, a scholar; Benjamain Cruickshank, 5, a scholar and Peter Cruickshank, 3. Benjamin and Christian also had two daughters Christina Cruickshank, 2 and a baby born in 1891, Annie D.[1]
By the 1901 Census Benjamin was shown as being the farmer, aged 47, still married to Christian. Son George was 17 and listed as Farmer's son (cattleman), Annie was now 11 and a scholar. The couple had three additional sons born since the 1891 Census, William Cruickshank 6, David Cruickshank, 4, and James Walker Cruickshank aged 1.[2]
