Liborio Pirricone is born and baptized on 7 June 1809. He is the son of Nicolo' Pirricone and Bernarda Cascio. His godparents are Don Liborio Caruso and Lucia Pirricone, wife of Matteo.[1]

Liborio marries Diana di Nino, of unknown parents, the widow of Bernardo di Puma, on 2 February 1834. His mother has died by this time.[2]

In the Church census for 1834, Liborio Pirricone, 24 (b. 1810), and his wife Diana, 20 (b. 1814), live with Pietra d'Antoni, 50 (b. 1784), a widow, on the strada di Candilora in Corleone.[3]

Liborio's older brother, Gaetano, dies on 16 July, most likely of the cholera epidemic, which reaches its height at this time. Their father, Nicolo', dies two days later.

Death of Liborio

Liborio dies on 2 August 1837. His parents' names are not recorded. His death record gives his age as 30 and names his wife, Diana.[4] Liborio is 28 when he dies.

In Don Colletto's history of Corleone, he writes that at the height of the cholera epidemic, rumors of poison raced through the town, and on 21 July a mob took four men: Leone lo Bue, Gaetano Governali and his son Giuseppe, and Ciro Boscarelli. They dragged the victims to the Gatto bridge, brutally beat them, and shot them to death with rifles. The main aggressors in the crowd were Catinotto Moscoglione, Liborio Perricone, son of the late Nicolo', age 27, Leoluca Milone, Simone Maione, and Benedetto Glorietti, all but the last, natives of Corleone. Giuseppe Catalinotto, Liborio Pirricone, Leoluca Milone, Simone Majuri, and Benedetto di Mitri, are all executed on 2 August.[5][6]
