Research notes

I'll come back to this. Laurie Pitman

My dad's notes on Thomas Pitman (d 1730) children show that Robert was born before 1720 and died after 1760 in Surry County, VA, and that he marriage a woman named Margaret, bc 1692

Probably the son of Thomas Pittman IV (abt.1684-bef.1730).

Robert was the name of one of the sons of Thomas Pittman IV (abt.1684-bef.1730), named in Thomas' will. Robert Pitman appears in Isle of Wight land records, witnessing a transfer in 1730 between Jesse Moneham and Edward Chitte. Presumably he was at least 21 at that time to be legal age to witness the transaction. So his birth year was probably around 1708 or 1709.
