Elizabeth Pitman was born circa 1655, the daughter of Thomas Pitman and his wife Jane or Joanna of Marblehead, Massachusetts Colony[1]. Elizabeth predeceased her father, who died in 1694. Her son Thomas Russell was trustee for her portion of the estate[2]
By 1664, she married Henry Russell, also of Marblehead[1][3]
Samuel, born circa 1672[6] and baptized May 4, 1679[5], who died before December 1709[7]
Thomas, born circa 1673[6] and baptized May 4, 1679[5], who died before December 1709[7]
Elizabeth, born circa 1675[6] and baptized May 4, 1679[4], who married Amos Dennis and was living in December 1709[7]
Mary, born circa 1679[6] and baptized May 4, 1679[4], who was living, unmarried, in 1709[7]
Edward Henry "Henry", born circa 1681[6], who was living in December 1709[7], and who married Elizabeth Reith
Sarah, born December 1682[6] and baptized 6 May 1683[5] in Salem[8], who married James Trefry[9],who was living in December 1709 [7]
Henry Russell died before his estate was administered June 26, 1683. The first inventory was taken in June 1683, and these documents note the ages of his six children[6][10][7][11]
Elizabeth (Pitman) Russell remarried. Her second husband was Jacob Knight.
On December 18, 1684, Elizabeth (Pitman) Russell married Jacob Knight as his third wife[12][13][1][6][10]. As Elizabeth Knight, she was named in the will of Roger Russell, her first husband's father[14]
Their children included:
Priscilla, baptized 19 Sep 1686[15], who married Jeremiah Sprague[16]
Esther, baptized Sept. 23, 1688[17], who married George Peak[18]
Jacob, baptized April 13, 1690[15], who died 17 June 1695
