Biography

Eugenie Aglae (Pitre) Godeau was born on 4 Nov 1840 in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, United States, daughter of Francois Pouponne Pitre (~1804 - 1872) and Sophie Azelie (Joubert) Pitre (1808 - 1891).[1]Christened the same day.[2]

Eugenie married Cleophas Prudhomme (~1838 - 1878) on 22 Feb 1859 in Opelousas.[3] children were:

  1. Eraste Joseph Prudhomme (1860 - 1937)[4]
  2. Marie Amanda (Prudhomme) Pitre (1862 - >1920)[5]
  3. Edgar Cleophas Prudhomme (1865 - >1930)
  4. Albert Prudhomme (1866 - 1917)[6]
  5. Andre Prudhomme (~1868 - )
  6. Marie Prudhomme (1870 - )
  7. Virginia (Prudhomme) Andrepont (1872 - 1900)
  8. Joseph Prudhomme (1876 - <1915)
  9. Mary Anna (Prudhomme) Boudreaux (1878 - 1956).

Eugenie married Francois Belisle Godeau (1855 - >1900) on 22 Feb 1881 in Eunice, St. Landry Parish. Their daughter was Emma (Godeau) Boudreaux (1882 - 1968).[7]

Eugenie died on 26 Jul 1899 in Opelousas aged 58.
