Bessie May Pitre was born on August 3, 1906 in Welsh, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, United States, daughter of Ambroise Pitre (1878–1916) and Erise Hebert (1881–abt. 1920).[1]


Bessie had a brother, Harrison J. Pitre (June 11, 1899 – December 15, 1968).


In 1910, Bessie M (3) was in the household of her father, Ambroise, in Uvalde, Uvalde, Texas. [1]


Bessie died on May 12, 1994 in Vinton, Calcasieu Parish, aged 87. She was buried in Consolata Cemetery.[2] [3]
