Arthur Pitre was born in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana on 3 June 1870 to Louis Onesime Pitre and Alida Dupre.[1]
In 1880, the family was living in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[2]
Arthur married Celestine Durio in St. Landry Parish. They obtained a marriage license at the Opelousas courthouse on 20 June 1891,[3]
and were married on 6 July 1891 as recorded in the St. Landry Catholic Church registers.[4][5]
They continued to live in St Landry Parish in 1910.[6] They had 12 children, as well as Arthur's father and Celestine's mother, living with them.
By 1920, they had only 8 children still living at home.[7]
Arthur died on 5 January 1933 in Opelousas.[citation needed]
He was buried in Sacred Heart Prairie Ronde Cemetery, Prairie Ronde, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
