Apoline Pitre, daughter of Joachin Louis Pitre (1817 - 1864) and Marguerite Melasie Pitre (~1823 - 1902) was born about 1852 in Opelousas, St. Landry, Louisiana, United States.

Her known siblings were:

  2. Louis Pitre (1840 - 1861)
  3. Onesime Joachin Pitre (1843 - 1878)

  8. Lastenie Pitre (1854 - 1874)
  9. Octave Pitre (1855 - 1879)

Apoline married Thomas Balfa (1844 - 1880) on 19 January 1869 in Opelousas, Louisiana.[1][2]

Their known children were:

  1. Paulina Balfa (~1872 - 1875)
  2. Cyriaque Balfa (1879 - )

About three years after Thomas died, Apoline civilly married William Moses Bibb (1832 - ~1900) on 23 May 1883 in Opelousas; they married in church in Church Point, Louisiana three and a half years later, apparently just before her death.[3] (Her widower remarried about six months later.[4])
