Jean Baptiste Pitre was the 4th out of 5 children born to Joseph Pitre and Catherine Thibodeau.[citation needed] It is possible that he was born as early as 1744, the second of eight siblings.[1] Denissen gives him a 1752 birthdate, apparently the only child of theirs to come to the Detroit area, arrival in 1755.[2] He was possibly born in Port Royal,[2], no documentation provided for Chipoudy.
Occupation: Master Cabinet Maker and Bourgeois. [3]
Jean Baptiste was married twice, both in Detroit, first to Mary Frances Cosme and second to Angelica Chauvin.[2]
He was buried on 26 MAY 1834 in Assumption Sandwich, Ontario.[2]
