Jean Baptiste Pitre was the 4th out of 5 children born to Joseph Pitre and Catherine Thibodeau. It is possible that he was born as early as 1744, the second of eight siblings. Denissen gives him a 1752 birthdate, apparently the only child of theirs to come to the Detroit area, arrival in 1755. He was possibly born in Port Royal,, no documentation provided for Chipoudy.
Occupation: Master Cabinet Maker and Bourgeois.
Jean Baptiste was married twice, both in Detroit, first to Mary Frances Cosme and second to Angelica Chauvin.
He was buried on 26 MAY 1834 in Assumption Sandwich, Ontario.
Family chart has Jean born about 1752 in Port Royal, Acadia. Also has dies May 26 1834 Assumption Sandwich, Canada, which may be the buried date?
Ste Anne Parish records noted Jean Baptise was a master cabinet maker and Bourgeois. Bourgeois translate to Shopkeeper or merchant.
