Biography

Marguerite was born about 1683 in Port Royal, Acadia.^[1]

In 1686 at Port Royal, Marguerite age 2 (an unnamed girl in the 1686 census) was living with her parents Jean PITRE age 61 (sic) and Marie PESELET (sic) age 45 and her 6 siblings: Claude age 16, Mare (sic) age 12, Pierre age 9, Jean age 6, Francois age 4 and an unnamed girl age 1 month. By this time her two oldest sisters had married and were settled nearby with their husbands.^[2]

She married Abraham Comeau, son of Pierre Comeau l'âiné and Jeanne Bourg, about 1701.^[3] She died 12 July 1747 at Port Royal, and was buried the following day.^[4][5]

Research Notes

In the original 1686 Census, Mare is spelled Marc.^[6]
