Joseph Pitre was born about 1765 possibly in Rustico, Saint John's Island (which was then under the administration of Nova Scotia Colony). His parents were Jean Baptiste Pitre and Marguerite Arseneau.
He was buried on January 10, 1822 in St. Augustine, Rustico, Colony of Prince Edward Island; husband of Modeste Chiasson.[1]
