Biography

When Théodore Pitre was born in 1774 in Rustico, Prince Edward Island, Canada, his father, Jean Pitre, was 44 and his mother, Marguerite Arsenault, was 32.

He married Pélagie Arsenault, daughter of Paul Arsenault and Anne Bernard, about 1801 and they had the following children together:

1) Sozime, b. about 1802, married to Rose Arsenault

2) Henriette, b. about 1804, married to Joseph Aucoin

3) Sophie, b. about 1806, married to Francois Gallant

4) Marguerite, b. about 1810, married to Jean Doiron

5) Jean, b/bp. 9/11 Oct 1812, married to Charlotte Doiron

6) Isidore dit Blind, b. about 1814, married to Madeleine Doiron

7) Thomas, b. about 1816, married to Louise dite Lisette Blaquiere

8 ) Marie, b/bp. 25 Mar 1818, married to Victor Doiron

9) Anne, bp. 15 Apr 1821, married to Louis Gallant

10) Judique dite Judith, b/bp. 9 Jul/14 Nov 1824, married to Etienne dit Stephen Gallant

Note: The Island Register incorrectly lists Theodore Pitre's mother as Martine Gallant, confusing him with a different Theodore Pitre, son of Pierre Pitre and Martine Gallant[2]


He died sometime after 1824 in PEI.
