Note: The "IX" in Pierre's name indicates that he was the ninth child born to these parents. This is done to distinguish him from three other brothers also named Pierre (VI)(XI)(XV).

Pierre est né le 19 juin 1825 et a été baptisé le même jour en l'église Saint-Clément de Beauharnois. Il est le fils d'Ignace Pitre dit Lajambe, cultivateur, et de Marguerite Roy. Son parrain a été Jean Baptiste Tondu(?) dit Saint-Onge et sa marraine, Amable Leduc. [1]
