Charles Pitre, born about 1729 [age 23 on 1752 census], [2] son of Joseph Pitre and Elisabeth Boudrot. He was a ploughman, married 7 Feb 1752 at Port-Lajoie, Isle St. Jean, to Anne Henry, daughter of Jean & Marie Hébert.[3][4]

In 1752 he is a ploughman, age 23 and his wife is age 21 residing at Riviere-du-Ouest on Isle St. Jean (now Prince Edward Island).[5]
In 1758, Charles and Anne with their three young children were deported from Isle Saint-jean to France and on 23 Jan 1759 they disembarked at St. Malo from one of the "Five ships." [6] Their three children Anne-Blanche, Marin and Pierre died at sea during the crossing. They resided at Pleurtuit from 1759 to 1772. [7]
In 1785, the family immigrated to Louisiana aboard La Ville d'Archangel. On 3 December 1785, Charles, Anne and their children Joseph, Marguerite and Isabelle disembarked in New Orleans. [8]
He died before 28 September 1794 in Louisiana. [2]

"Charles Pitre, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 23 years, has been in the country fifteen months. Married to Anne Henry, native of l'Acadie, aged 21 years.
"They have no children; being married in the month of February only.
"In livestock they have one cow, two pigs, and one sheep.
"The land upon which they are settled is situated as in the preceding case, and was given to them under similar conditions. They have made a clearing for the sowing of four bushels of wheat.
