Biography

Marie-Josephe Pitre, daughter of François (dit Nordest) Pitre and Anne Préjean, was born 28 Dec 1708 in Port Royal, Acadie and christened there the next day. [1] She died before 19 Jan 1767. [2]Marie-Josephe appeared on the Census of 12 Aug 1763 in South Carolina with her 3rd husband Charles Bourgeois. [3]

Born 1719, Charles married 1st at Beaubassin on 2 Feb 1743 to Anne POIRIER; four children. He married 2nd around 1752 to Marie PITRE of Port Royal (widow of Charles SIMON and of Charles GIROUARD). This 3rd Charles lived at Aulac, near Beaubassin. Deported to South Carolina he was found there in 1763 with his 2nd wife and their children (except for Jean) along with her children Natalie, Gregoire & Bonaventure GIROUARD.
