Olivine 'Carrie' Pitre: Springfield Union, Thursday, 25 November 1954: OLDEST CITIZEN IN LUDLOW, DIES LEAVING 172 KIN ---- Mrs. Olivene Forkey Survived by 14 Children, 93 Grandchildren Mrs. Olivene (Peete) Forkey, 95, Ludlow's oldest resident, died in her home, 38 Cross St., yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Mrs. Forkey was born in Quebec Dec. 8, 1858, the daughter of Peter and Pricilla (Rheaume) Peete, and had resided in Ludlow for the past 59 years. She was a charter member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society of St. Jean Baptiste Church. Five Sons, Nine Daughters She leaves 172 direct descendants, including five sons, William and Homer Forkey of Ludlow, Amos and Frank Forkey of Indian Orchard and Noah of Springfield; nine daughters, Mrs. Carrie Duby, Mrs. Rose St. John, Mrs. Mary Dion, Mrs. Eliza Carlson, Mrs. Celina Landry, Mrs. Orella Lavoie, and Mrs. Blanche Bonneville, all of Ludlow, Mrs. Malvina Ballard of Indian Orchard, and Mrs. Marceline Fontaine of Ware; 93 grand-children; 57 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at the Ratell funeral home Saturday morning at 8 with solemn high mass of requiem in St. Jean Baptiste Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 11 p.m.
