John lived in Christian County, Kentucky between 1808 and 1812 [2]. He and his family moved to Bedford County, Tennessee in 1812 until 1817 (source needed). In 1817 John showed up back in Christian County, Kentucky (source needed). By April 1821, he was living in Todd County, Kentucky (source needed). He is listed on the 1840 U.S. Federal Census as living in Todd County, Kentucky. John died on July 14, 1845, in Todd County, Kentucky, at the age of 65.

Research notes

There is a John Pittman found in Todd County, Kentucky, in 1830; however, he does not appear to be the correct age to be this John [3]. There is a John Pittman in 1840 in Todd County, Kentucky, who could be the correct age (born about 1781-1790, but a person born about 1790 could match both the 1830 and 1840 census records [4]. Is there another source to know if this is the correct John?

Todd County was created from Christian and Logan Counties in 1820, so it is possible that John would change residence to Todd County in 1821 without moving anywhere.

A John Pittman is found in Orange County, North Carolina, in 1800, of the correct age. A possible discrepancy is the fact he is in a household with a female of approximately the same age, prior to his intermarriage with Elizabeth Morris [5].

A patrilineal descendant matches Y-DNA in the CTP DNA Study.
