He married about 1865 to Nancy Ellfair Musselwhite, daughter of Rhesa Musselwhite and Eady Brown. He was about 18 years old in 1865. They had at least 5 children together:
PARENTS: His mother is inferred to be Eliza Pitts based on 1850 and 1860 census records. A marriage record has not been found for his mother. It has been inferred from Ancestry.com DNA ThruLines that Eliza is the daughter of Margaret Pitts. See the research notes for Margaret, his grandmother.
DOB: His DOB is engraved on his headstone as "18 Jan 1847" but it is transcribed on the FAG memorial as "16 Jan 1847".
DOD: Family researchers indicate his DOD may be April 1924; however, no sources were found to confirm. His DOD is not visible on his headstone.
