Johann Joachim Tews Plagemann/Plagmann was born Oct. 6, 1749 in Below. He was baptized on Oct. 6, 1749. His god-parents were Tew Koster, Johann Stypahl, and Trien Luise Mayern. He was married on Oct. 29, 1784 to Vieck Dorthie (Ann) Jacobs, born Dec. 5, 1759. She was baptized on Dec. 5, 1759. Her parents were Johann Heinrich Jacobs, and May Sophie Bobzein. Johann was a journeyman carpenter, but later became a school-master at Langenhagen. Due to the Reformation, the Protestants now had to develop their own pastors and teachers. Men who seemed to have some ability were called to assume this task. Johann and Dorthie had seven children.[1]
His first wife, Dorothie, died Dec. 10, 1801 of spotted fever. He married, secondly, on April 30, 1802, Anna Marie Elizabeth Plagemann, whose father was a day laborer in Alt-Zidderlitz. They had one son. Johann died on Jan. 23, 1831 in Langenhagen of 'weakness'. His age was 81 years and 3 months.[2]
