Edward Platts was born about 1731 in Cropston, Leicestershire England and baptised on 12th September 1731 in Thurcaston, Leicestershire. He was the son of Henry Platts and Mary Porter. ^[1]

Edward Platts of Glenfield married Martha Fellows of Kirby Muxloe on 8th December 1754 in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire, England. Note that Edward's birthplace of Cropston is less than 5 miles from Glenfield. ^[2][3]
