Henry Stocks Platts was born in 1864 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of James Platts and Harriet Mitchell. [1][2][3]

Henry Stocks Platts (bachelor age 23, a trimmer) of 15 Hastings Street, the son of James Platts (deceased) was married to Alice Smalley (spinster age 21) of 17 Hastings Street (no father's name given) at All Saints Anglican Church, Loughborough on 18th June 1888. [5]
In 1911, Henry Stocks Platts (48, a general labourer), his wife, Alice (45, born in East Leake), their children, Henry Stocks (22), William Arthur (19), Sarah Annie (15), Elsie May (13), James Earnest (10), Percy Archibald (6) and Walter Robert Platts (4) were living at 49 Victoria Road East, Leicester, Leicestershire. Henry's brother, Arthur William Platts (42, a hosiery trimmer) was boarding. The five youngest children were born in Leicester, the two eldest in Loughborough. [6]
