In 1911, Benjiaman Platts (80, retired coal miner, born in Griffydam, Leicestershire) and his wife, Fanny Platts (75, household duties, born in Griffydam, Leicestershire) had been married 46 years and had had seven children, all still living. Two of their sons, Streeton Platts (45, single, a coal miner stallman, born in Griffydam, Leicestershire) and Cooper Platts (43, single, a coal miner stallman, born in Griffydam, Leicestershire) were living with them, as well as their granddaughter, Laura Woodward (13, at school, born in Griffydam, Leicestershire).
