Note:biographical details imported May 9, 2017(Mark Edward Catt):
An anecdote printed in Le Soleil (14 March 1984) reports that as a young woman, around 1803, Rosalie Pleau saved the life of the Bishop of Québec, Joseph-Octave Plessis, who was drowning in the Jacques-Cartier river. According to the story, the Bishop told her afterwards "I am but a poor man, but you shall be blessed in your descendance", echoing the Lord's blessing from the episode of Jacob's Ladder in the book of Genesis (28:12-14).
The excerpt also notes that Rosalie married Jérôme Fiset in 1805, so there is no doubt as to her identify. But it seems doubtful that Monseigneur Plessis became archbishop of Québec until some time after 1803.
