Biography

William was born in 1807. He is the son of Thomas Plemons and Elizabeth Roberts. He passed away in 1896. [1]

Burial: Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellijay, Gilmer, Georgia

Other names for William were Billy Plemons, William Plemons, and William Billy Plemons. Burial Notes: Find a Grave.com lists him at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA (Wm B Plemmons). Another source has him buried at New Salem Cemetery, Boardtown, Gilmer Co., Georgia. No FindAGrave record found. 8 December 2020.

Research Notes: FamilySearch has William Billy Plemons as the son of Thomas Plemons (1760-1851) and Elizabeth Roberts (1762-1839) instead of as the son of that couple's son Thomas (1789-1848). Other sources indicate that, although Elizabeth was older than the younger Thomas, she was his wife and the mother of his children.

• Participated: in the removal of the Cherokee Indian to Oklahoma (Trail of Tears), 1838.
