OBITUARY-MRS. MICHAEL ALT As was announced in these columns last week, Mrs. Michael Alt died on Wednesday, June 21st, 1933, at a Madison hospital.
Mrs. Alt had been failing in health since December and was taken to the hospital on June 5th, where on the 19th she submitted to a goiter operation, but gradually failed thereafter until death.
She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and a woman ever ready to lend a helping hand to her neighbors and friends.
Katherine Pletzer was born April 23, 1869 at Draverstein Waldmunchen, Bavaria. In 1870 she came to this country with her parents and with them she settled on a farm near town of Spring Green. There she resided until she was united in marriage with Michael Alt, May 8th, 1889.
Mrs. Alt leaves to mourn: her husband, seven sons and two daughters-Antony, Joseph, Marcus and Mrs. Manzel Farris (Anna) of Plain; Alois, Herman and Mrs. John Strassman (Regina) of Verona, Albert of LaCrosse, and Lawrence of Madison. Also twenty-two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Luke's church in Plain at 9:30 Friday morning, June 23rd. The pastor, Rev. Peter Beschta, officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Plain.
