Note: 6th child of Anna Mitchell. 2011: Leo R. Ploof, Sr., 91 of King St., died on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at the Birchwood Terrace Healthcare. He was born in Burlington on Nov. 5, 1919, the son of John and Anna (Mitchell) Ploof. He was employed by G.S. Blodgett Co. for 39 years and retired in 1981. In 1939, he was married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burlington to Rose "Marie" Gentes. She predeceased him in 2007. Leo enjoyed being at his camp in North Fayston, where he loved hunting and fishing with his sons, grandson and his nephew, Donald. He is survived by his children, Leo R. Ploof, Jr. and his fiancée, Charlene Brown, of Burlington, Arlene Luppi of Arizona, Paul and his wife, Alberta, of Burlington;. seven grandchildren and their spouses, Tracy and Bill Monell of Shelburne, Danielle Ploof and fiancée, Karl Poirier, of Burlington, Larry and Kelly Luppi of Berlin, Jennifer and Rockie Benedict of Arizona, Paul and Ruth Ploof, Jr. of Essex Jct., Brenda and Scott Robins of Essex, Burt and April Ploof of South Burlington;. nine greatgrandchildren, Phillip, Ryan, Nicholas, Dylan, Sarah, Jake, Nathan, Olivia and Grace; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lesley and Jake; and by his sisters, Drena Wheel, Rita Ploof and Alfread Sears. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesady, March 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's CoCathedral in Burlington, with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. ^[5]
