Route 1, Brasher Falls, died in Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon Feb. 25, 1971, where he had been admitted the night before. He had been in failing health about two years. Funeral services were held in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, North Lawrence. Spring burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Brasher Falls. Mr. Ploof was born in St. Regis Falls, Sept. 5, 1905, a son of Charles and May Dewey Ploof. He attended schools in various North Country communities. He had worked at Alcoa, then for a roofing contractor and then as a pulp cutter. He and Mrs. Mary Berry Clark were married in 1950 at Black River. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Edna) Polack, Norfolk, Mrs. Bernard (Elaine) Michard and Mrs. Faye Lamb, both of Massena;. four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ralph (Barbara) Douglas and Mrs. Donald (Mary) Douglas, both of Brasher, Mrs. Shirley Thomas, Massena, and Miss Margaret Clark,. Rome, N.Y.; 28 grandchildren, one brother, Donald Ploof, Pine View, Ala., and a sister, Mrs. Edna LaBaff, Florida.
