Note: 1989: Sr. Jeanne d'Arc Plouffe, OP, formerly Genevieve Ploof, of Bay City, died at St. Mary's Hospital on August 8 at the age of 81. She had been a Dominican Sister since 1930. A retired teacher, secretary and librarian, she served in schools in both New Mexico and Michigan, including St. Mary, Saginaw; Gaylord;. and the catholic high schools in Grand Rapids, Alpena and Muskegon. She is survived by two brothers, Joseph Ploof of Flint and Louis Ploof of Omer;. and two sisters, Rose Marie LaVasseur of Flint and Gertrude Stapish of Essexville;. many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. Sister's body will repose at Dominican Chapel/Marywood on Thursday, August 10, with visitation from 1:15 until 6:30 and from 7:45 until 9:00pm. A Remembering Service will take place at 6:30pm and a Wake Service at 7:00pm on Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be in Dominican Chapel/Marywood on Friday at 4:15pm. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.[9]
