Ploof, 25, of 151 Hewitt street, was given a 30-day jail sentence when he was arraigned yesterday in Circuit Court on a charge of breaking and entering without permission. His brother, William Ploof, 22, of 209 Wheeler avenue, was given a 60-day jail sentence, execution suspended and one probation when he was arraigned on the. same charge. Judge Frank Monchun imposed the sentences during a session in the Underwood building on Broad street, after both defendants entered a plea of guilty to the. charge, which had been reduced from an earlier charge of breaking and entering with criminal intent at the request of Assistant Prosecutor Wilfred J. Rodie. Both accused had previously pleaded not guilty to the original charge. According to the prosecutor, William Ploof was apprehended on Aug. 20 inside Handleman's junk yard office, where a lock had been forced on the door, while his brother was taken into custody while attempting to flee from the junk yard. He told Judge Monchun that Robert Ploof had several previous arrests and two previous convictions for breach of peace, while William Ploof had no previous police. record. ^[9]
